Fast retailing: a less known fashion giant

Japanese fashion retailer Fast Retailing, best known for its brand Uniqlo, is not as well known in the western countries as its counterparts Inditex and H&M.

Fast retailing has almost the same level of revenue as Inditex and H&M.

When compared in market capitalisations, Fast retailing is already world’s fourth most valuable clothing retailer with almost double the market cap to H&M.

Like its peers, except Nike, Fast retailing has been rather slow to invest in e-commerce. In 2020 the company had 15% of all revenue coming from the online channel. Fast retailing has an objective to double that share to 30% “in the future”.
