Grocery retailing in Sweden growing against unusual comparisons

During this spring grocery market in Sweden faces unusual comparison months from 2021. Last year the stores were declining and online had really high growth as the pandemic had the society in its grip. The share of groceries sold online peaked during February and March of 2021.

Against these comparison numbers this year February and March will see stores growing and online declining.

The entire grocery industry keeps on growing, by 2,5% in total.

Online represented 5,9% of all groceries sold. Slightly higher share of that came from home delivery than Click & Collect, which has decreased from the 3,9% in 2/2021. This February 2,8% of groceries was Click & Collect.
