Jysk grows steadily and profitably

Did you know that the Danish home and furnishing company Jysk has grown to become one of the biggest in Europe with revenues of 4,4 billion €?

Covid gave a sturdy bump for that growth, but the progress has continued for quite a many years. Jysk boasts already more than 3 000 stores in 50 countries. This as many markets as the industry giant IKEA, but with almost 10 times the stores than IKEA.

The growth has been achieved with a robust profitability. Last year Jysk was able to achieve profit margins of 13,8%. This was not only a Covid phenomenon as the profitability levels have been good before the pandemic.

And at a time of rapid growth of online, this was achieved with a very traditional bricks and mortar approach with probably rather limited sales through online.
