Online grocery continues to normalize in Sweden

Online grocery in Sweden kept on declining for the 12th month in a row. The declines have become smaller as the comparative numbers from the previous year are not extraordinarily high.

At the same time, the stores continue their strong growth fuelled by the rapid inflation. As a result of this dynamic, online share of all groceries dropped to 3,7%. Lowest levels since the start of the pandemic. However, online share is still approximately 50% higher than prior to pandemic in Q3/2019.

In terms of the online channels, the home delivery has maintained its sales quite well. It is currently 54% of all online grocery.

Compared to Q3/2019 revenues, online has grown by 88%. Home deliveyr has grown by about 50%, but the bigger part of the growth has come from the Click & Collect, which has grown by 160%.
