Restaurants in Sweden recovering rapidly

After really difficult pandemic year, restaurants have started to recover. In Sweden during the second half of 2021 restaurants were able to bounce back with high growth figures. Despite the high growth figures (going 80+% for staff restaurants and highway eateries), the restaurant industry was barely able to get above the pre-pandemic level of 2019.

Fast food chains were partly insulated from the pandemic influences. During the darkest months of the pandemic, fast food chains sales declined only slightly. The growth during the opening of the society in Q4/2021, fast food chains saw significant growth with 25% growth.
