Stockmann department stores back to more robust growth?

The long struggling department store chain Stockmann seems to be getting back to a more robust growth path. The store revenue grew by 13,6 % from Q3/2020. Despite the solid growth, the revenue is still -11 % below the pre-pandemic levels (Q3/2019).

The online share of the business that grew during the pandemic, has been decreasing. Currently online is 8 % of the business, which is really low for a department store.

The most positive news from the Stockmann Retail division was the ability to bounce back to profitability after several difficult years. It will be very interesting to see what kind of profitability the company achieves during the most important quarter of the year.
