Stores continue to drive grocery growth in Sweden
Online grocery has declined in Sweden ever since the pandemic restrictions were loosened. Since the steepest declines, online has stabilised on a new level. In August, online reached 4% share of all groceries.
As the online has been declingin, the store based business has been growing rapidly with the inflation. In August stores grew by 9,8%.
This level is not significantly lower than during the previous years. Despite the pandemic raging, August to have been on. a rather similar level each year.
The most interesting question remains to be how much online grows in the run up to Christmas.
